Geography Workshop Presents …’Er Outdoors

Last month Geography Workshop ventured to London to visit ResonanceFM for the first in a series of Clear Spot radio broadcasts.  ‘Er Outdoors is a purposeful play on the pejorative ‘er indoors term which would limit the capabilities of women to a diminished private space, and is interested in giving airtime to women artists, (social) scientists, writers, researchers and broadcasters working across scientific, geographic and artistic fields in exploring the cultural histories and contemporary discussions in the fields of nature-writing, psychogeography and  walking art. Artists and writers Karen Lloyd, Alison Lloyd, Lucy Furlong and Morag Rose talk about their work and discuss how their work connects with themes of activism, resource management, climate change and the anthroposcene.

Commissioned to make a further series of six programmes, Geography Workshop will produce a range of radio programmes under the ‘Er Outdoors title to be aired on Resonance FM throughout 2016 and 2017.  It is intended that sound and printed materials accompanying this series will be made available after the series has been broadcast for educative purposes.  For further details, please return to this site for future broadcast listings and updates.
