‘Er Outdoors

‘Er Outdoors came about in response to a ResonanceFM programme on Walking artists that largely shut down and out the voice of women practitoners.  In contacting the station, they agreed that a pilot could be made to showcase a range of women whose professional, intellectual and artistic lives involved making walking art: authors, poets, visual and performance artists.

In response to the positive feedback from the pilot, two further programmes were commissioned to make a further two programmes that dovetailed with amplifying the 2016 Walking Women exhibitions held at Somerset House, London and Forest Field, Edinburgh.

The booklet based on Walking Women Art exhibition and directory of artists and practitioners compiled by Amy Sharrocks and Clare Qualmann can be found here

The 'Er Outdoor recordings can be found at Resonance FM, with special thanks to Michael Umney (Resonance FM Productions) for encouragement and enthusiasm for the idea behind the programmes and for creating such a supportive space in which to learn and communicate.  Special acknowledgement is also due to all contributors of these programmes for being inspiring and for sustained connection and support of Geography Workshop's aims and vision.
